Dear Justice Mr. Arun Mishra

On the first Independence Day, I felt like a slave when I read about Mr. Prashant Bhushan, Advocate being charged for contempt.

I remember I grew up being taught to be fearless when you are clear and clean in your conscience. I was taught to speak the truth, and stand for truth.

The rationale of Justice Mr. Arun Mishra Sahab is that Mr. Prashant Bhushan is defaming the Court with his tweets. He further says that the SC is the last place for the common man to seek justice.

Okay.

Dear Judge Sahab, there are many voices like Mr. Prashant Bhushan who have found no justice in the Supreme Court, did they land up becoming a threat to this democracy? There are many people who would feed anyone just to spare themselves the trouble of knocking the doors of the Courts. There are many litigants who don’t even approach the Supreme Court because it is so costly. There are people who don’t believe in the justice system, and there is more.

My point before you Judge Sahab is, if Bhushan sir has committed contempt then why not a few retired judges be made liable for contempt?

And if dissent is a crime then why do we need Courts? Contempt of Courts, God bless us all, but as long as there is injustice in any corner of this world, there will be contempt of this court as well as many other courts.

If the judiciary gets intolerant and politicised like the Mukke-Mukke Gang in power today then, post your retirement judge sahab there will be many contemnors standing for the ideals in the Preamble to the Constitution of India.

Oblige Judge Sahab. 🙏

PS I am committing Contempt of Court too.
